Rally for schools Dec. 12

There will be an anti-school spending cuts rally at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Bustleton and Cottman avenues.

The rally, sponsored by the Philadelphia Coalition Advocating for Public Schools and Parents United for Public Education, will focus on how district funding cuts have put children at risk of academic failure. According to a news release issued by the groups last week, budget cuts have left schools understaffed and children underserved.

The groups want the state to adopt a formula that will guarantee the city’s schools get all the funds they need. ••
